NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE

This autonomous Institute funded by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is
an apex technical  Institute for promoting  Health and Family Welfare  Programs in the
country  through  Education  and  Training,  Research  and  Evaluation,  Consultancy
Advisory and specialized services. Applications are invited for the following posts:
On Regular Basis:

1. Lecturer (Statistics & Demography ):-
One post (Reserved for SC)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100 + AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto  35  years.  (Relaxable  upto  5  years  for  govt.  servants  and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Essential:Good academic rec ord  with atleast 50% marks in Master’s degree in Statistics
or Demography or Mathematics with Statistics from a recognized University  /
Institution
2.. Lecturer (RBM-Clinic) : - One post (Reserved for OH & OBC)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000+ NPA
Age limit: Upto  35  years.  (Relaxable  upto  5  years  for  govt.  servants  and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt .)
Essential:Medical qualification  included in the  first or  the  second  schedule or  part  II of
the  third  schedule  (other  than  licentiate  qualifications)  to  the  India n  Medical
Council Act, 1956.  Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of
the  third  schedule  should  also  fulfil  the  conditions stipulated  in  section 13(3)
of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956

3.Reader (Reproductive Bio-Medicine): - One Post (UR)
Scale of pay – Rs. 15600-39100+AGP 8000 + NPA
Age  limit:  Upto  50  yea rs  (Relaxable  upto  5  years  for  govt.  servants  and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)

Essential:Medical qualification  included in the  first or  the  second  schedule or  part  II of
the  third  schedule  (other  than  licentiate  qualifications)  to  the Indian  Medical
Council Act 1956.  Holders of educational  qualifications  included in part II of
the  third  schedule  should  also  fulfil  the  conditions stipulated  in  section 13(3)
of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
4.Profe ssor (Planning & Evaluation)One post (On deputation
Scale of pay – Rs.37400-67000+AGP10000+NPA
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years


Eligibility:Officers holding analogous posts or with 6  years service as Reader / Associate
Professor  in  the  concerned  subject  in  a  Medical  College  or  in  a n  equivalent
grade  in  a research  /  training  institution  and  fulfilling  the  qualifications

5.Profe ssor (Education & Training)
One post (On deputation) Scale of pay – Rs.37400-67000+AGP10000+NPA
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years Period of deputation: One year in the first instance.

6.Dy.Director (Admn.): One post
Scale of pay: Rs.15600-39100+7600 (GP)
Method of Recruitment: On deputation
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
By  deputation of an  officer  with 3 years experience in  Administration,
Budgeting,  Financial  and  Personnel  Management  as  Under  Secretary  of  the
Central  Govt.  or  equivalent  post  in  scale  of  pay  of  Rs.10000 -15200 (pre-
revised) in an Institution / Organ ization of repute.

7.Accounts Officer: By transfer on deputation -Two posts
Scale of pay: Rs.9300-34800+4600  (GP)
)(Grade  Pay  of  Rs.4600/ - for the  post
of  Accounts  Officer  may  be  enhanced  with  the  approval  of  Ministry  of  Health  and
Family Welfare – which is under process
Age limit: Not exceeding 56 years
i. Transfer  on  deputation  from  SAS  qualified  officers  with  10  years
service  from  Audit  and  Accounts  Offices. (period  of  deputation  shall
not ordinarily exceed 3 years
On Contractual basis:
(08)Lecturer (Sociology): One post (UR) (On contrac tual basis against leave vacancy)
Scale of pay – Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto  35  years.  (Relaxable  upto  5  years  for  govt.  servants  and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Essential:
a. Good academic  record  with  atleast  50%  marks  in  Master’s  degree  in
Sociology from a recognized university / institute.
b. A  doctoral  degree  in  any  branch  of  Sociology  from  a  recognized
University / Institution

Indian  Postal  Order  /  Demand  Draft  in  favour  of  Director,  National
Institute of Health and Family  Welfare., New  Delhi  payable at New  Delhi
(No fee for SC & Physically  handicapped  candidates) either personally or
by  sending  a  request  alongwith  a  self  addressed  envelope  (9”x4”)  duly
stamped for Rs.10/-.

2. Applications  for Sr.No.6 and 7 may be se nt through proper channel in  the
proforma given in Annexure-I alongwith  the  complete and  upto -date  bio-
data and attested copies of confidential reports (for last 5 years).
