Special Recruitment Drive for filling up of posts of Principals on Direct Recruitment reserved

for SC/ST candidates

  Applications are invited from eligible persons for filling up 15 posts under reserve category (SC-02, ST-13) of Principals in the pay band Rs.15600-39100  with Grade Pay of Rs.7600/- on direct recruitment for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas which are co-educational residential schools, located in almost all districts in the country from among candidates possessing following qualification and experience. Out of these posts, one is earmarked for persons with locomotor disability. The vacancies are subject to change.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

(i)  Educational Qualification & Experience

Essential:

1.                  Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks.

2.                  B.Ed or equivalent teaching degree.

3.                  Persons working in any of the Government/ Semi Government / Government recognized/ CBSE affiliated Senior Secondary (10+2) School/ Inter College.

(a)    Holding analogous posts or

(b)   Vice-Principal in the scale of pay of Rs.7,500-250-12,000/- (pre-revised) / Rs.8,000-275-13,500/- (pre-revised) with 10 years experience/service as PGT/Lecturer in the scale of pay of Rs.6500-200-10500/-  (pre-revised) /  Rs.7,500-250-12,000/- (pre-revised)  or

(c)    A minimum of 12 years experience/service as PGT/Master/Lecturer in the scale of Rs.6,500-200-10,500/- (pre-revised) or equivalent in the senior secondary school.

Desirable:

1.                  At least three years experience as a House Master of a fully residential school.

2.                  Experience of working in a fully residential/CBSE affiliated/Government recognized school.

3.                  Proficiency in English and Hindi/concerned regional language.

(ii)        Age:    Between 35 to 45 years.

Job Description

            As Principal you will be the Head of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, a co-educational residential school, set up in most of the districts in the country with the main object of providing quality modern education to children predominantly from rural areas.  You will also be responsible to provide the leadership to a team of about 40 teaching and non-teaching staff to achieve excellence in academic and non-academic areas, safety and security schedules and overall administration of the Vidyalaya.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1.                  Applications of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories only will be considered.

2.                  Cut off date for determining various eligibility criteria (educational qualifications, age limit, experience etc.) will be 1^st March, 2010.

3.                  Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility before applying.  Prescribed essential qualifications are only a criterion of eligibility for consideration and it does not entitle a candidate to be necessarily selected.

4.                  Relaxation in upper age limit as per Government of India rules will be admissible.

5.                  The candidates should apply only in the prescribed application format published as     Annexure to this advertisement giving full details. Application form can also be downloaded from Samiti’s website www.navodaya.gov.in Applications must be accompanied with attested photocopies of certificates in proof of age, qualifications, experience, pay scale and category.  Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

6.                  Selected candidates are likely to be posted/transferred to any Jawahar  Navodaya Vidyalaya in the country.

7.                  Candidates working in Government departments, Autonomous Organizations, etc. must submit their applications through proper channel.

8.                  Envelope containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters            “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL IN NVS, (SC/ST SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE 2009-10)”.

Candidates residing in the North Eastern States of Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim and remote areas like Lahaul Spiti, Lakakh (J&K) Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep Island will be allowed 10 days additional time for submission of applications.
